Nikole Stoica

Nikole was born in a musician’s family in Romania, and pursued a musical career since the age of 8. She joined the children’s choir in the Bucharest National Opera at the age of three. Later, her parents took her to audition for the George Enescu Music School, where they discovered that she had perfect pitch.This helped her advance and develop my musical studies, specifically in music theory and violin.

During the twelve years of music school, she participated and won 1st and 2nd prizes in a number of national and international competitions. In addition, she was selected to go on tours with the high school orchestra touring France, Macedonia, Albania, Prague and Italy, and be part of the Evolution Tempo Orchestra, which had the renowned guitarist Steve Vai as a guest artist, touring Romania, Italy, Spain, St.Petersburg and Moscow. In 2012, Nikole was selected to play with the Romanian Philharmonic Orchestra in Bucharest, as a soloist, and performed with the Royal Camerata, an orchestra supported by King Michael of Romania, and a member of the CEI Youth Orchestra, under the amazing conductor Igor Coretti Kuret, touring Romania and Italy.

Aside from classical music, Nikole participated in a summer program that consisted of film music, improvisation and jazz, in Linz – Austria, in her attempt to branch out into various genres of music. In addition to violin lessons, she also studied piano for eight years, which became her recreational activity.

Nikole earned her Bachelor degree from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she entered with full scholarship and studied with Professor Irina Mureseanu. At The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, she expanded her music abilities and violin techniques through participating in string competitions, and masterclasses with famous violinists and pedagogues such as Joseph Silverstein, Ilya Kaler and many others.

Nikole played violin in many ensembles, including solo, duos, chamber music, and orchestras while pursuing her degree. Some of her most memorable performance experiences include : The Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra under the amazing conductor Benjamin Zander, 2nd violin for the Merchant of Venice, The Video Game orchestra, BNMI (Boston New Music Initiative), playing solo, duos, 1st and 2nd violin in chamber and orchestra concerts, MIT( Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and MTA (Massachusetts Theater and Arts), Film Scoring SSP (Session Scoring Program), a program for the Film scoring students at Berklee College of Music, as well as being the Concertmaster and Manager of the Berklee Neapolitan Orchestra, Boston Opera Collaborative (Orpheus Production), and UNBCO (University of Massachusetts Boston Orchestra).

Nikole currently resides in Boston, and actively plays with the Cape Ann Symphony Orchestra.
