Matt Marzola

Instructor, Derry Ensemble Coordinator, Windham Academy Program Coordinator

Matthew Marzola is a graduate of Keene State College, with a dual major in Music Performance and Music Technology. He has performed in countless music venues across the east coast with some of the finest musicians in the area, including two-time Grammy Award winning and three-time nominee artist Luther “Guitar Junior” Johnson. Beside the east coast, Matt has also performed at the 2020 International Blues Competition in Memphis Tennessee. Matt is currently completing a masters degree in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music. He continues to write scores and compositions for media and one notably includes a horror film that won the Best Picture award at the 2022 Guignol Film Festival in Portland.

A versatile musician and multi-instrumentalist, Matt’s ability spans across many differing styles. He has experience performing in a variety of musical ensembles which include orchestras and concert bands, jazz big bands and combos, rock and pop bands, WGI indoor percussion groups, percussion ensembles, theatre pit bands, and more.

Matt is comfortable with students of all levels and interests, from basic pedagogy and technique to audition preparation and advanced musical vocabulary and concepts. Matt is a firm believer in versatility and strives to instill musical freedom and creativity in his students to establish artistic expression and musical success.

Aside from being a performer, educator, and composer, Matt also works as a music producer and audio engineer. Like his performing career, his experience as a producer has expanded his musical footprint to include genres from rock to jazz and hip hop, and everything in between. He runs a hybrid recording, mixing, and mastering studio that utilizes and embraces classic analog hardware pieces as well as modern digital processors and software.

Matt is also the Derry Ensemble Coordinator and Derry Showcase Coordinator.
