Mark Christen has been teaching music with a specialty in band for 35 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Music Ed. at Bob Jones University in South Carolina. He later completed his Masters in Music Ed. at UMass Amherst.
Mark is proficient on clarinet and saxophone. He also plays numerous band instruments as well as banjo, guitar and bass and has performed with various musical ensembles including the New England Wind Symphony and the Northeast Big Band.
Mark has a passion for music and teaching children. He has directed bands in various schools in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He organized and directed the All town Derry band concert for a few years. He also has directed a summer band program in Derry. Mark continues to teach private music lessons and two music courses at Manchester Community College.
In addition to teaching private lessons at Real School in Andover and Derry, Mark teaches music classes and leads a student band at our New Hampshire charter school partner.
