Lily Hoyt is a passionate composer, pianist, and teacher with over a decade of professional experience. She has delivered hundreds of individual lessons, helping students excel in piano performance, composition, music theory, and ABRSM exam preparation. Lily’s teaching is rooted in personalized and structured methods, crafting detailed lesson notes for each student after every session. She has mentored students to significant achievements, including guiding a special needs student to pass the ABRSM Level 5 exam and mentoring another to win 1st place in the International Music Composition Competition. Currently, she is pursuing a dual degree in Music Composition and Psychology at Northwestern University.

In addition to her teaching, Lily has composed a range of original works—spanning octets, quartets, trios, duets, and piano solos—many of which have been performed by esteemed musicians like M.B. Gordan, Mann-Wen Lo, and Bingxia Lu. Her compositions have been showcased at national venues for the National Junior Original Concerts (NJOC), and she has performed as an endorsed artist at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). Lily’s works have earned her multiple 1st prizes in the Yamaha National Young Composer’s Award throughout her career.

Recently, Lily has expanded her focus to film music, participating in prestigious programs such as the Screen Music Program in Pavia, Italy, and the Vienna Summer Music Festival. There, she studied under renowned composers Stefano Lentini (The Grandmaster), Garry Schyman (BioShock), and Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen’s Gambit), further refining her skills in scoring and orchestration.

Lily is dedicated to continuing her work in both teaching and composing, with a particular passion for cinematic and orchestral storytelling in the style of composers like John Powell and
Hans Zimmer. She looks forward to inspiring the next generation of musicians while furthering her own creative journey in both concert and film music.
