John “Muzz” Muzzy has been the lead drum instructor at The Real School in Burlington, since joining in 2011. Bringing with him over 35 years of teaching, performing and recording experience, which started in earnest with the Warner Brothers debut album from Farrenheit. The band he formed along with former members from the Joe Perry Project.
Upon the release of the album, and subsequent opening slot in the U.S. tour of Boston’s Third Stage Tour, Muzz performed for audiences numbering over 1 million, of which the second show on the tour was to 80,000 alone, at the Cotton Bowl in Texas.
Along with subsequent recordings and performances of solo projects with Boston’s Brad Delp and The Cars’ Ben Orr, Muzz built a private teaching roster in his personal studio and continues to be endorsed by Zildjian cymbals. He’s also performed at clinics along with Boston’s and Sammy Hagar’s guitarist Gary Pihl for Tascam, Sonor drums, and a few years ago, a Bose sponsored week performing in Germany with his bandmates from Farrenheit.
For fun, he formed Beatlejuice, along with Brad Delp and other musicians from the Boston music scene, which still performs around the area.
Instituting a 2 drum set teaching method at The Real School, he continues to help beginners and advanced students alike, prepare themselves for a variety of performing challenges, all the while, instilling the joys of performing music in any setting.
