John Carlo Pierce, tenor, enjoys an international reputation for beautiful sound and incisive acting. He held contracted positions with the opera theaters in the German cities of Cologne and Mainz, and has appeared on stages and concert platforms in North and South America, China, and across Western Europe.
John received degrees from Westfield State University and the Bastman School of Music, and has held university teaching positions at New Mexico State University and Colorado State University.
His solo recording, Songs of Winter Wants, released in 2021 on Centaur Records. This is the first commercially available recording of these songs and represents his ongoing research on the American art song repertoire of the early twentieth century. John was Director of Music Programs at Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton. MA, and is currently Director of Music Ministry at Mary, Queen of the Apostles Parish in Salem, MA. In the Boston area, he has sung with the Metropolitan Chorale and Coro Allegro.
