Jared Rocco

Jared Rocco is a pianist, guitarist, and singer-songwriter who has experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Jared’s personal teaching philosophy is to inspire his students to find passion in music, while providing them with the tools and techniques for becoming a competent and skillful musician.

He enjoys playing all genres of music but particularly loves rock, blues, jazz, pop, folk, and even electronic. Some of his favorite bands and artists include The Beatles, Billy Joel, Neil Young, Nirvana, Oasis, Pink Floyd, R.E.M. and Radiohead.

Born in Pennsylvania, Jared began taking piano lessons at age 6 and eventually moved to New Hampshire at age 8. At age 12 he began composing his own solo piano pieces inspired by nature and the changing of the seasons. Jared later picked up guitar and began playing and singing in various bands throughout high school.

After high school Jared went on to study music at the University of New Hampshire and earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 2014. He later received his master’s degree in Studio Composition at SUNY Purchase College in 2017.

Jared has recorded and released two albums of original music as well as composed music for the environmentally themed musical What’s All the ComOcean? The musical went on to be performed at dozens of schools around the state of New Hampshire. Jared has also gotten a chance to meet and perform for some of his musical heroes including pianist George Winston and rock singer/songwriter Willie Nile.
