The Real School of Music is looking for an engaging, well-organized, and creative Children’s Musical Theatre Instructor for ages 6-14 to join us full-time this Summer at our school in Burlington, MA. This is a full-time Summer position (July-August).

The Burlington Summer Musical Theatre Instructor will work with the Musical Theatre Director to coordinate our children’s musical theatre productions in Burlington with a cast of up to 28 students. Real School believes everyone should have the opportunity to experience music in new ways, so our Musical Theatre program is perfect for newcomers and repeat musical theatre students alike. This program focuses on teaching the art of theatre performance and building a show from the ground up while encouraging growth within the Real School community.
The Summer Musical Theatre Instructor will work full-time to help produce 3 two-week productions as part of our RealJams Academy Summer Programming. These programs are Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm with opportunities for students to enjoy workshops such as costuming, character development, set building, stage makeup, theatre games and more. ✅ 1+ years of relevant experience in musical theatre
✅ Previous experience working with young children, ideally in a theatrical setting, with the ability to corral group sizes up to 30 with help
✅ Strong organizational and time management skills
✅ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
✅ Effective communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Flexibility in working with different experience levels, learning styles, age groups
✅ Valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle
✅ Bachelor’s degree in a related field
