Nick Barbuto

Nick Barbuto is a professional drummer and music educator having been playing the drums for over fifteen years. Nick is a graduate of the Cali School of Music at Montclair State University where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree with honors majoring in Jazz Studies/Performance and minoring in Music Education.

Over his performance career, Nick has performed to live audiences ranging most recently from NYC jazz clubs and Lincoln Center, to First Night Boston and Disney World Florida. With over 400 live performances to his credit, Nick’s versatility covers a variety of genres – jazz, rock, blues, funk, pop, world, oldies, and theater “pit” productions. Originally focused on rock drumming as a young teen, Nick progressed to jazz percussion and was awarded the top high school jazz drummer in the state his senior year at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. Nick has performed as a session drummer on two studio albums soon to be released on the major streaming platforms. He has studied under renown American jazz drum masters including Carl Allen, Billy Hart, and Alvester Garnett.

As an experienced drum instructor and educator, Nick takes pride in inspiring and mentoring students of all skill levels. Similar to his passion in connecting with his audiences, his teaching approach also strives to connect with each of his students by combining percussion fundamentals. technical precision, creative exploration, and a deep appreciation for the art of drums and percussion – ensuring each student’s unique potential is realized and appreciated. Music has always been Nick’s greatest passion, and he is committed to using it as a tool for creativity, collaboration, and bringing joy to others through instruction, education, and performance.
